Mr and Mrs Hammer

Before you read this post, yes, I am still retired from weddings.  So if you’ve emailed me in the past year and I’ve politely said thanks, but no thanks I wasn’t lying to you.  But, some people I have to make an exception for.

Shannon is a sorority sister and started her floral business right after she graduated from college.  We booked her for our wedding in her first year of business.  My picture even hangs in her shop.  Right by the cash register.  Although, I think she just moves it there when I come by :)

Shannon planned her wedding date around peony season.  Her favorite flower.  She did all the flowers herself.  Crazy, right?  But, she totally pulled it off.  Even if she was making boutineers while she was getting her hair and makeup done and decorating the cake during cocktail hour.  I don’t think she would have had it any other way.  And it turned out absolutely stunning.

There were so many fun surprises at the wedding.  First, there was the sparkler grand entrance.  And then inn the middle of their romantic first dance the band stopped and yelled “Hammer Time!”.  Shannon and Gerald busted out the choreography from the Hammer Time (appropriate since Hammer is Gerald’s last name).  The nailed it!

And while the details and surprises were awesome, it was really seeing Shannon and Gerald so happy that made the day so great.  It was a perfect day and I was happy to be a part of it.  But, I’m still retired :)

So beautiful! The pictures are as stunning as the wedding itself. I think I’m going to frame the “Hammer Time” picture in my own house! :)
