I Need YOUR Help!

Hi Friends!

I need your help with two things!

First, I’m looking for models again!  Yeah!  I’m looking for couples this time and I would prefer models with wedding dress attire.  It doesn’t necessarily have to be a wedding dress, but it should be white or cream and you have to be able to play up the bridal aspect.  I need RELIABLE couples who will be there rain or shine!  Please email a picture and some information about you two.  Here are the dates:

February 28

March 7

April 11

Please email drew at drewbphotography dot com

I also need help on a new project I’m working on.  If you are a mom and have questions about how to take better pictures of your kids please email me!  If you are a photographer and have questions about how to manage a photography business and a family please email me too!  Any topic is open for discussion!  I’d love to hear from you!

And because no post is complete without a picture, here’s Brayden Bittel.  He’s been doing a lot of this lately.

Don’t really know what his problem is.  I think now that he’s almost a big one year old he’s gaining more independence and gets mad when he can’t do things by himself.  People always tell me that I have the perfect baby.  And while I agree with them about 90% of the time he does still cry and through tantrums.  Here’s your proof!

    Hi Drew,

I have tons of questions about how to take better pictures of my son. I have a Nikon D40 with the kit lens. I want to know how I can make the photos more crisp and I’d like to know more about working the manual function of the camera.

What is it that makes the photos as good as yours? Is it the actual camera? Is it the post-editing?

    Thanks!

Brayden!! Is he teething! At that age, you can blame everything on teething! Runny nose? Teething. Fever? Teething! Drooling? Teething! Got the runs? Teething! Anyway…you get the point! :D

    Drew,
I’m only 12 days away from being induced with my little boy and I’m looking forward to taking pictures of him but I’m also a nervous wreck as he’ll grow so quickly and I want to do the best I possibly can.
Anyway… I guess I’m the mom who wants to take the best pictures of her kiddo. :)
Poor Brayden…. he looks like he’s had better days. Bless him.
You’ll be so glad that you took this picture in the future. It can’t always be smiles but that’s life and it’s so crucial that we capture every aspect of them as they grow.

You’re positively wonderful…. I’ve been following the blog since your pregnancy.

I am a mama of four girls and I want to start a photo business in the near future. My question is how you get other peoples kids to cooperate with you while you are taking their pictures. I can get my own kids to do stuff, by bribing or threatening them :) , but I’m not sure how parents would feel about that technique. Love your blog and work.

I have a question!!! What do I dress them in to make their blue eyes POP?! I notice that some of their outfits/colors photograph better than others… Is there a rule of thumb for that sort of thing?

  14. Hey Drew! I just sent you an e-mail, My hubby and I would love to model for you any day!! :D xo-Blair

Hi Drew! I am a big fan of your work. Although I don’t have kids (yet), I have been photographing other families children and had a question for you. I’ve seen you use a bean bag in some of your newborn shoots, but when I went to use one, the newborns sank in the middle and the material on it was much too furry. Do you drape some different fabric over the beanbag? What about a basket? Do you just fill it with a blanket to make them sit up? Any tips or tricks for working with the little ones or props you recommend? Thanks so much! LOVE the new site! Congrats!
