Krista & Vince

We’re back!  Puerto Vallarta was great, but we missed our little guy too much and ended up coming home a day early.  I’ve been spending lots of quality time with Brayden to make up for being gone.  The poor little guy is sick now :(

Anyways, enough about me.  The day before Vince and Krista’s wedding we did a quick engagement shoot.  I had actually never met them before even though Krista and I are from the same hometown and went to the same junior high (she’s a year younger than me)!  Krista and Vince live in Utah so we did all of our correspondence by email and phone.  It was so great to finally meet them!  We had  lot of fun wandering the streets of Puerto (my parents hate when I call Puerto Vallarta Puerto so I will keep calling it that to annoy them!).  The cobblestone streets in Puerto are so pretty even if they did give me shin splints.

Here are a few shots from the engagement session.  Check back in a few days for their wedding pictures!

Adios!

Adios Amigos!  I’m heading down to Puerto Vallarta for my last wedding of the year and will be out of the office until Tuesday.  I don’t think I’ll have much internet access so I’ll be answering emails when I return.

But, before I go I must blog a session that I shot on Monday because I know Ashley will be disappointed if I don’t :)

On Monday I got to do something really fun!  I got to teach another photographer!  I shot Tracy’s family session in October and after the shoot she had lots of questions, which I was totally happy to answer.  Tracy thought it would be a good idea to do a mentoring session.  I had never dreamed of doing a workshop or teaching sessions or anything like that.  I just didn’t think I had anything to teach!  But, once I started thinking about everything I could tell Tracy I had a list a couple of pages long!  So, we got together all day Monday and discussed business strategies, marketing tools, shooting and editing.  And we also did a shoot so Tracy could implement everything that we had discussed.  It was so much fun!  I had a casting call on my blog and Ashley volunteered herself and her husband, Jeff.  Ashley always leaves the sweetest comments on my blog so I knew they would be a fun couple to shoot.  Ashley’s a photographer herself!  Be sure to check out her blog.

Here are some of my favorites from the session.  You can also see Tracy’s on her blog.  I’m so proud of her because her homework was to go home and get a blog and she did it that night!  What a good student :)

If you’re interested in setting up a mentoring session with me send me an email drew@drewbphotography.com.  I will have special rates for the winter months!

And a very special thanks to my good friend Jenny B for making a gorgeous bouquet for us!  Thanks Jen!

The Greene Family

My shoots with the Greene’s are always an adventure.  Last year we braved dead fish, birds, a gang of scary teenagers and the biggest cockroaches I’ve ever seen at the Salton Sea.  All of this while I was 6 months pregnant with Brayden.  I was a little scared he was going to come out with 3 arms, but he ended up okay.  This year we had LOTS of ideas of where to do their shoot, but they were all a little too ambitious and we ended up scrambling for a location at the last minute.  We shot in a very industrial (and pretty scary) part of Long Beach and under a freeway on ramp.  I love the way they turned out (and yes, Michelle, maybe I love them so much I just might marry them!).

I’m sure you’ll recognize the Greenes.  Their two adorable kids end up on my blog a lot and they are our bestest friends.  We have lots of Bittel Greene family adventures together.  Michelle is my BFF and we’ve both been through a lot this year and I’m glad we’ve had each other to lean on in the hard times and laugh together during the good times.  She’ll make fun of me for getting too sappy (because she makes fun of me for everything I do), but she really is one of the best friends a girl could ask for.  She’s the type of person who does things without you even asking, gets you things that you don’t even know you need, and does it all without expecting a thank you.  She’s a truly selfless and giving person and I’m so lucky she and her family are in our lives.

Okay, enough with the sappiness.  Onto the pictures!  And of course here’s the slideshow as well!  Michelle, Jake, Owen, and Emma have a fabulous time at Disneyworld!  We can’t wait to hear all about it!
