Valentine’s Day (A Little Early)

These two super cute kiddos came over to get their Valentine’s Day pictures done today.  I’ve been experimenting shooting with some new backdrops and taking advantage of the great light in my house.  It’s something different for me, but I really enjoy it.

First up is Baby Cameron.  This little girl just has the most gorgeous eyes in the whole world!  She’s 7 months old and is SO close to crawling.  One more week and we wouldn’t have been able to take these pictures because she’s just going to be taking off!  By the way, this tutu is from Tiara’s Boutique on Etsy.  It’s the same designer that did Emma’s tutu.  I LOVE her shop.  Check it out!

Next up is Cameron’s cousin, Aiden.  Aiden wanted nothing to do with pictures today.  But, we used some candy and chocolate and a fake phone call to his preschool teacher to get him to cooperate ;)  And also, hearts are for girls according to Mr. Aiden.

But, this is what Aiden thought of me and our shoot today.  You win some and you loose some :)

I’m in The Knot!

One of my goals for 2008 was to get published in a magazine.  I was kind of bummed when it didn’t happen, but I had been featured on some great wedding blogs so I wasn’t too disappointed.  Today I went to my local Borders to buy some of my favorite wedding magazines.  As I was waiting in line I was flipping through the current issue of The Knot.  My heart skipped a beat as I saw MY image in there!!!  A picture that I took!  I couldn’t believe it!  They contacted me saying that they may feature this image, but I never heard anything and assumed they decided not to feature it.  So I was shocked when I saw it!  As a bride I read The Knot and I loved all the great wedding inspiration I got from it.  As a photographer it really is a dream come true to be featured in any publication, let alone one that I turned to when planning my wedding way before the dream of becoming a wedding photographer was a reality.

And they are also featuring one of my images in the Fall/Winter 2009 issue as well.  I’ll be sure to let you know when it’s on newsstands!  Such a great way to start of the new year!
