Yvonne and Jon

Yvonne and Jon (I love that their names rhyme) met in med school.  At that other big University in Los Angeles.  That isn’t UCLA.  And won’t be mentioned on my blog ;)   They matched at the same hospital for their residency and moved far away to a cold land called Wisconsin where they now live and practice medicine.

We’d been planning their engagement shoot for a very, very long time and had a few set backs, but it turned out great!  Yvonne and Jon love to cook together and they are both really good at it!  So, we went to the Westwood farmers market and bought the ingredients for a beautiful meal.  They rented an amazing condo in Marina Del Rey where they prepared their dinner and enjoyed a romantic dinner for two.  Well, I’m not sure if it was super romantic with me there clicking away, but we had a fun time!

Jon and Yvonne are getting married next May at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles.  It’s going to be amazing!  Especially because Platinum Weddings by Kerrie is coordinating (thanks for the referral Kerrie!).

Yvonne and Jon, I had so much fun spending the day with you two!  I especially enjoyed the Diddy :)   Thank you for the amazing cupcakes and cute baby gift.  Kennedy wears the socks daily!  She even laughs at them when she sees them in the mirror of her baby gym!  Can’t wait for your wedding next year!  Here’s your slideshow!

I didn’t realize that the bag had their initials on it until the end of the shoot.  I’m a nerd, but isn’t the monogram cute???

The Morrison Family

I was so excited to finally get to photograph the Morrison family!  Shelley has contacted me a couple of times and we were never able to schedule a session.  But, finally we were able to make it work! I actually got to meet Shelley a few months ago when her mother and future sister in law came to the studio for a wedding photography consultation.  So happy I get to work with them again at her brother’s wedding next Summer!

I love, love, love shooting kids that are close in age to my son, Brayden.  Lucas is 4 and he’s hilarious!  So much like my son.  We fast became friends and he was going right into my bag to find the treats I carry :)   He is a total free spirit and such a boy.  He was really fun to photograph!

Logan is 6 months and, boy, did he made me work to get a smile out of him!  He’s a super happy little guy, but just woke up from a nap.  Finally at the end of the session I figured out what made him laugh!  And it was so worth the patience because his big, gummy smile is too cute!

I love a family who can have fun together and appreciate each other.  Josh’s work keeps him away from home a bit and Shelley is a nurse, so their schedules are a bit crazy right now.  But, it’s evident that they are so in love with each other and with their children.  Which made it very easy to photograph them and capture the fun they have together as a family.

Thanks for the fun afternoon, Morrison family!  I had a great time getting to know you all!  Here’s your slideshow!
