The Bengard Family – 2010

A lot has changed with the Bengard family since we did their last family shoot!  The biggest change is that they have gone from a family of 3 to a family of 4!  It was so much fun to have Liam in their family pictures this year.  And it’s crazy to think that I started taking their family pictures when Aiden was right around the same age.  Now he’s 5!

Jamie is a great friend of mine.  We’ve known each other since second grade.  Lived in the same neighborhood.  In the same model house.  We played soccer together.  Both went to senior prom with our now husbands.  Went our separate ways after high school.  I answered an ad for a job at her family’s company without knowing it was her family’s company.  Got the job.  Friendship rekindled.  She supported my new photographer career while still working at her family’s company.  Let me go part time so I could further my career.  And then got me the cutest camera cookie basket when I eventually quit (because she knew I didn’t want a going away party!).  I wouldn’t be where I am today without the support of friends like Jamie.  I’m so lucky to have her in my life!

Here’s the slideshow!

Mr and Mrs Purdy

When Erin orginally contacted me in early September for their October wedding, I thought she might be a little crazy.  Planning a wedding in just two months is, well, crazy!  But, the more I got to know her the more I realized that it was actually smart.  Instead of waiting until the following October and drawing out the planning process they just got it all done.  Besides that, Erin is super laid back.  Probably has something to do with the fact that she grew up in South Dakota.

Erin and Stu picked The Shade Hotel for their wedding.  The hotel is just a few blocks from their house and is beautiful.  It’s a small hotel, but it was fun because all of their out of town guests stayed there and basically filled up the whole hotel.  Erin and her “Cuzins” even did all the flowers!  First, the flowers.  They were gorgeous and I love that Erin took the time to do them herself.  Second, the Cuzins.  I don’t have any cousins.  I always wanted them and was jealous of all of my friends who had them.  I just wish I had cousins like Jaymee and Heather!  The three of them have such an awesome relationship and are so close.  It was fun group of girls to work with!  The guys were fun too.  I even got a groomsmen to slide down a pole at a fire station!  Stu opted to not try it.  I don’t blame him.  It was high!

Thank you Erin and Stu for including me in your wedding day!  Your love for one another is so evident!  It was such an honor to be able to capture it!  Here’s your slideshow!

Erin’s BCBG gown was a steal on Ebay!  $200!

Erin’s father passed away two and a half years ago.  She wore this necklace in memory of him.  It’s his favorite color – Kansas Sate purple.

Love this shot of Stu checking out his wedding ring.  All night he kept touching it and looking at it.  It was really sweet.

The Toney Family

Courtney is the super talented owner of  Joyful Weddings and Events.  I was so bummed last year when I wasn’t available to take their family pictures.  This year I was able to get them in and I’m so glad we did because I had a lot of fun!

We started out shooting some pictures for Courtney’s Etsy shop, Joyful Joyful.  She sells the cutest banners and flags, which are perfect for a wedding or for your home.  And I love her newest cupcake toppers!  So cute!

After we got all of the “work” out of the way, we had some fun with Courtney’s family pictures.  Courtney’s son, Isaiah, is just a few months older than my son.  It was fun seeing how similar they are.  As soon as I started singing the Thomas the Train theme song I had him wrapped around my little finger :)  And Courtney and David are expecting a new baby boy in February!  We’re going to do a maternity shoot when Courtney’s belly is a little bigger :)  For now, here’s the slideshow!
