Then Comes Marriage

Baby Kate

While in Ohio I met Baby Kate and her parents Cyndy and Blair.  Blair was a groomsmen in the wedding along with Chuck and as soon as Chuck told me there was a groomsmen with a 9 month old baby girl I knew I had to make friends with them.  When I saw Cyndy walk up to the rehearsal dinner (which was in a barn BTW!) she had an SLR camera with her so I knew she was a cool girl.  We started talking about cameras and I asked if I could take a few pictures of Kate.  Then we decided to do a little mini shoot the next morning while the guys were getting ready for the wedding.  How fun!

Kate is just the cutest and happiest little girl.  I love all 6 of her cute little teeth!  I think she may even be Brayden’s future wife!  Here are just a few pictures from our quick shoot.  Enjoy!

Mr. & Mrs. Wiggenhorn

I’m back!  Did you miss me?  Before I talk about our Ohio adventures I have to blog a wedding that I shot a couple of weeks ago.  Maren and Joe were married at Hollenbeck Palms, which is a retirement home.  A retirement home for a wedding you ask.  Well, it’s actually a cool story.  Hollenbeck Palms is the oldest retirement home in California and has been run by Maren’s family for over 100 years.  Maren’s grandparents were married in the same chapel by her great grandfather.  Pretty cool, right?

The ceremony was performed by JP Reynolds who is awesome!  He was also the officiant for Chelsea and Sean’s wedding last June.  The videographer was Jeff from Luv Bug.  I love working with Elysium (who is Luv Bug’s parent company) and Love Bug is no different.  It’s so great to work with an awesome videographer.  We were treated to another AMAZING band, Fine Artists Entertainment.  I love bands who can play all the old stuff AND current music.  I swear it was like Justin Timberlake and Rhianna were there!  Carla Domen and her team (because there were like 8 of them there!) from GBK Productions did a great job coordinating as well.

Maren and Joe, I hope you had an amazing time in Jamaica!  You two have been so awesome to work with and I’m so glad I was able to be there with you on your wedding day!  Here’s your slideshow!

As soon as I arrived Maren got a little emotional.  I think it’s cute because I did the same exact thing on my wedding day.  As soon as my photographer showed up I lost it!

Mr. & Mrs. Masuko

I’d been watching the weather all week.  Thursday – Sunny and 90 degrees.  Friday – Sunny and 88 degrees.  Saturday – Rain and 68 degrees.  Sunday – Sunny and 85 degrees.  Rain in October?  It never rains in October!  I wasn’t the only one watching the weather closely.  Alison and Wayde had a beautiful OUTDOOR wedding planned at the Fullerton Arboretum and I know they were constantly checking on the weather.  When I met with Alison on Saturday she seemed calm and collected on the outside, but I know she was really nervous.  Not just because of the rain, but she couldn’t wait to see Wayde.  Alison has a gorgeous smile and it was a little hard to coax it out of her before the ceremony, but as soon as she saw Wayde I saw that genuine smile that I remembered from her engagement session.  The smile that only Wayde can get out of Alison.

Luckily we got nothing more than a few sprinkles and Alison and Wayde’s wedding went off without a hitch.  The venue is absolutely gorgeous.  I loved the ceremony under the big tree and the outdoor reception.  The flowers were done by Flower Allie and were amazing!  I also loved that they had an artist at their reception who painted their reception as it happened.  And last, but not least, they had the best string quartet I’ve ever heard. Contact Lisa with Batavia Strings for more info lisa@bataviastrings.com.

Congratulations Alison and Wayde!  Enjoy Jamaica!  Here’s your slideshow.

Alison and Wayde gave their bridal party and parents leis and then exchanged them with each other.  Love that idea!
