Then Comes Baby

Jen’s Day With Drew!

I had not 1, but 2 totally fun mentoring sessions last week.  The second one was with Jen from Jennifer Imus Photography.  This session was awesome because Jen and her family have been clients of mine for the past 3 years.  I’ve had so much fun seeing her family grow and now I get to see Jen’s business grow as well.  Jen’s photography business is in the infancy stages.  For the past 7ish years Jen has been a stay at home mom.  She left a successful career in marketing when her first daughter, Sydney, was born.  While she LOVES being a mommy she realized that she needed to do something for herself.  To find her passion.  And for her, that is photography.  I think a lot of us mom’s can relate to that, right?

She’s doing things the right way and has been taking classes and really learning her camera.  She came to me to learn marketing, pricing, time management, and also how to photograph people since she’s been focusing on landscapes up until now.  I believe now she has all of the tools to get her business of the ground including an incredible amount of talent, passion, and drive.  I’m so excited to see where she takes it!

Here’s one of the Imus family last year.  I’m sure you’ll recognize them :)  This is one of my most favorite pictures!

Our family that we photographed was awesome!  Kim, the mom, even emailed me pictures of their outfit choices!  How cool is that???  I love how they all coordinate with the blues, but they aren’t matchy, matchy.  It was perfect.  Besides totally looking cute, these kids were two of the nicest, most well behaved kids I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with.  I absolutely adored all of them!

Onto the pictures!  First off, one of Jen in action!

Stacy’s Day With Drew!

I really love having the opportunity to do my mentoring sessions. I get to meet new people and share my passion for photography. How much better can it get than that?

Last weekend Stacy, from Stacy Anne Photography, spent the day with me and we had such a blast! When I initially checked out her blog I wasn’t sure why she was coming to meet with me. Her images looked great (especially her newborn work! check it out!). While she wanted help with shooting and post processing, one of her main reasons for meeting with me was to figure out how to balance it all and making time for both her kids and her growing business. So we covered all of the basics, but also focused on how to do things in the most efficient way possible. And I think I was able to help her out :)

Here are some images from our shoot with a super fun family! Enjoy!

This is Mac. He’s 6. But, if you would have asked me I would have said he was at least 10. He’s the most sarcastic 6 year old I’ve ever met, which I thought was hilarious being a sarcastic person myself, but I don’t think mom thought it was as funny :)

This is one of my most favorite pictures I’ve ever taken

Gotta make time for Mom and Dad!

He makes my job easy!

Niya was such a cutie too! This is her Hannah Montana pose

I don’t speak graffiti so if this says something bad I apologize in advance ;)

Love this one of beautiful mom and daughter

And I love this one that Stacy got of me and Niya! Thanks, Stacy!

The Abadie Family

This is my third session with the Abadie family and they just keep getting better and better!  Remember their session from last year?  It’s amazing how you can see clients once a year, but feel like you start off right where you left off.  That’s how I feel with them.  This year little Micah (who’s now 5!) pretended he didn’t remember me, but then later he remembered all the poses he did from our last shoot.  He totally remembered me!  Jordan is a big basketball phenom and got even taller.  She’s now 5’11!  And I love the new matching hair do’s that the boys are sporting.  Surfer inspired since they moved back to California!

Kristina said that she looks forward to the shoot all year.  So, do I Kristina.  Thanks for always being so awesome!  I just adore working with you family!  Here’s your slideshow!
