Cameron just turned two and she is such a ball of energy! She’s adventurous and funny and I love how when she hugs she hugs with all of her little mite. She loves candy and has to have two pieces each time you give her some. Her favorite tv show is Dora and she says, “Oh, man!”. She’s going to be a great big sister!

I can’t wait to meet their little man in a little less than 7 weeks. If you ask Jill she’ll say he’s coming closer to a month! We’ll see! Here’s the slideshow!

Baby Reid is perfect!  But, what else would I expect from Ashley and Tyson?  Reid slept practically the entire time.  He let us put him on top of shelves and even outside in a basinet.  And Ashley is a labor and delivery nurse so having her there to pose Reid was so helpful.  Do you think she would quit her job and come be my assistant?  Wishful thinking!  If only all newborn sessions could be as easy as this one!

I know I’ve said it before, but it is the biggest compliment when my past brides and grooms trust me with the next important stage in their life.  It was so special to capture Ashley and Tyson with their baby boy.  They are already such amazing parents.  I can’t wait to see the little person Reid grows up to be.  He is already so, so, so loved by so many people!  Here’s the slideshow!

I met Salena at Ashley’s wedding in 2008 and I loved how welcoming she was.  Salena and Ashley are best friends and I think it’s so fun that they got to be pregnant together!  Salena had Mark and I cracking up during the entire shoot.  I would tell her to turn her head to the left and she would turn it right.  I would tell her to turn it right and she would turn it to the left.  I’m going to blame it on pregnancy brain  Mark and Salena are so open with one another and so trusting.  It’s an awesome thing to see!

Congratulations Salena and Mark!  I can already tell how much you love your baby girl!  She is a lucky little lady to come into this world with so much love already!  Here’s your slideshow!

Kari and I first met on the soccer field.  Razzmatazz in fifth grade if I remember correctly.  We grew up on the soccer fields together and were friends through junior high and high school.  She used to pick me up in her purple Honda Civic because I was the very last one to turn 16.  We went to Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm together and bonded because we were practically the only kids in our grade who didn’t like to party.  But, then she went off to college in Idaho and we eventually lost touch until we ran into each other a couple of years ago and now stay in touch thanks to good old Facebook

Kari and her husband Roger had their first baby last summer and I was so honored when Kari asked me to take her one year pictures.  It was my first time getting to meet Kendall and she is adorable and perfect and everything I would expect from Kari’s daughter.  It’s just crazy to me that we have kids!  Weren’t we just graduating from high school?

Thank you again Kari for letting me capture this special time in Kendall’s life!  It was great seeing you and catching up.  Let’s not let years go by before we do it again!  Here’s your slideshow!

But, my question to her was, is it ever going to be perfect?  My advice to Tracy was to listen to her heart and dive in.  Let her emotions drive her instead of her brain and see where it takes you.  A lot of photography is emotional.  The way you connect with your clients.  The way you depict the love you see through your lens.  You can’t (or at least I can’t) rationalize everything that I do with photography.  Sometimes you have to just go with it and let your heart lead the way.

The awesome Enoch family modeled for us.  I love how bright and colorful their outfits were!  They totally matched their outgoing and fun personalities.  Had so much fun with this family!

Now, Ashley and Tyson are expecting their first baby.  A baby boy named Reid.  Ashley was 31 weeks when these pictures were taken.  I really didn’t think that Ashley could be anymore beautiful, but she is glowing.  I hate when people say that about pregnant women, but it’s true!  She’s glowing!

I’ve been waiting to take their maternity pictures since they got married!  I was that excited about this session!  It’s the biggest compliment when my wedding couples trust me with the next important event in their life.  I was truly honored to be able to capture this special time in their lives.

Congratulations Daniell and Daniel!  Hannah is just gorgeous!  Have tons of fun with her!

11 years after they started dating and 3 years after they got married Christine and Matthew had Charlotte.  She’s a girly girl who loves flowers, princesses, and sparkly shoes!  She’s a ball of energy!  Spunky, fun, and a sweetheart!  It took her a bit to warm up, but once she got going she did she didn’t stop!

Dylan is 8 months old.  I love that age!  They can sit, but can’t crawl (ie easy to photograph because they can’t move!) and are oh, so happy!  As soon as he got out of the car he was all smiles!

I had a ton of fun with the Musial family!  Although, we did have a little scare.  I shoot in fields all the time and I knew one day I would have a snake encounter.  Last Monday was the day.  I was shooting cute Dylan and moved to get a different angle.  As I was about to stand up something made me look to my left and there was a big, nasty snake a foot away from me!  It was white and pink and did I mention BIG?  I did my best to not act scared because I didn’t want to scare Charlotte, but I think I jumped a mile high and ran really fast screaming, “There’s a snake!  There’s a snake!”.  Luckily Matthew knew it was an albino California King snake and that it wasn’t poisonous.  But, I’m not going to lie, it scared the crap out of me!  Yuck!

I think a lot of people would have scooped their kids up and ran as fast as they could to their cars, but Christine and Matt were totally cool and we went about our session!

I shot my very first senior session with twins Aubrey and Kailey.  I had so much fun getting to know these two very kind, smart, funny, and beautiful young women.  Hanging out with them brought me back to when I was graduating.  You can see the excitement in their faces and anticipation of what’s to come.  We talked about Prom and graduation luncheons and boyfriends.  Oh, to be young again!

I always wanted a twin sister (I was a Sweet Valley Twins junky when I was little!) or at least a sister.  I love how they are twins, but they are so different.  I had no problem telling them apart.  They did tell me that they switched classes once.   But when Aubrey failed one of Kailey’s tests they decided that switching probably wasn’t a very good idea!

I asked Jo, Aubrey and Kailey’s mom, to join in on some of the pictures.  She’s obviously very close with her girls and is so proud of them.  It was evident in the way she wrote about them in her emails to me.  I can imagine this is such a bittersweet time for her!

Thank you, Aubrey and Kailey, for letting me document this special time in your lives!  I really had a great time with you girls!  I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for you.  I’m sure it’s nothing but great things!  Happy Graduation!  Here’s your slideshow!
