Your totally sweet and awesome boyfriend, Mark, contacted me to schedule a photo shoot for your 10 year anniversary!  How awesome is he?  I can’t wait to meet you two, learn about your story, and document it for the two of you!  For now, here’s a letter from Mark to you on your 10 year anniversary!  I hope your day is great!

Karyn – Thank you for these past 10 years. Thank you for being by my side through the good, bad and almost unbearable times. Thank you for showing me that I can accomplish and overcome anything. Nancy and Eric have a love of traveling.  In fact, that’s how they met.  They were traveling together with a big group of people and were just friends at first.  Then, when Nancy was organizing another trip awhile later Eric happened to be the only one that was able to go.  That’s where their love began.  They’ve traveled all over the world together!  Place I can only dream of going to one day.

Because of their love of traveling I thought Union Station in Downtown LA would be a great place to shoot.  These two have spent a lot of time on trains all over the world and it’s such a beautiful place!  The architecture is amazing!  I love shooting in LA.  So different than Orange county.  But, I will say that I hate the traffic.  Took me 3 hours to get home!  And 1 hour of that was to go 4 miles on the 101.  Insane!!!  I could have walked faster than that!  Gotta love LA!

I can’t wait for their wedding next May at the Athenaeum on the campus of Cal Tech.  It will be gorgeous for sure!  Here’s the slideshow!

It’s a means to get to the reactions and interactions I want from my clients. It’s a way to break the habit of saying “Cheese!”. And a way to break the ice. Every time I use an Unpose I get different results because each family is unique and different. I love capturing families being themselves at that particular stage in their lives. I don’t want to pose them and make them something they’re not. Sometimes it’s the Unpose I want to photograph and other times it’s the reaction from the Unpose I want. Both are great for capturing relaxed and natural family sessions!
