First Comes Love

A lot has changed with the Bengard family since we did their last family shoot!  The biggest change is that they have gone from a family of 3 to a family of 4!  It was so much fun to have Liam in their family pictures this year.  And it’s crazy to think that I started taking their family pictures when Aiden was right around the same age.  Now he’s 5!

Jamie is a great friend of mine.  We’ve known each other since second grade.  Lived in the same neighborhood.  In the same model house.  We played soccer together.  Both went to senior prom with our now husbands.  Went our separate ways after high school.  I answered an ad for a job at her family’s company without knowing it was her family’s company.  Got the job.  Friendship rekindled.  She supported my new photographer career while still working at her family’s company.  Let me go part time so I could further my career.  And then got me the cutest camera cookie basket when I eventually quit (because she knew I didn’t want a going away party!).  I wouldn’t be where I am today without the support of friends like Jamie.  I’m so lucky to have her in my life!

I’ve never had a couple as laid back as Erin and Stu.  We shot their engagement pictures just 5 days before their wedding!  Most people are running around like crazy the week before their wedding.  Erin did admit that she was a little stressed, but I couldn’t tell one bit.

We started out at a golf course because that is where Erin and Stu met.  It was their first date without either one of them knowing it was their first date.  Erin came out to San Diego from Boston to visit her cousins.  Her cousins were friends with Stu.  But, because Erin’s cousins always referred to her as “Cousin Erin” Stu thought she was a guy.  He was pleasantly surprised to see Erin was a girl when they met up to play golf.  And it was love at first sight.  Stu knew he wanted to marry her and they started their long distance romance.  They fell in love, Erin drove across country to move out to LA, they dated for a couple of years, had a short 2 month engagement and now they are married!

We shot the second part of their engagement session at the beach because Erin and Stu live just a few blocks from the beach and spend a lot of time there.  It couldn’t have been a more beautiful evening!  Here is the slideshow!  Wedding pictures coming soon!

Amy and Louis had only been dating for 11 months when Louis popped the question.  They were traveling overseas to a friends wedding.  Amy’s friends were convinced he was going to propose, but Amy herself wasn’t so convinced!  Her friends were right!

I love the way Louis looks at Amy.  It’s like the whole world stops and it’s just the two of them.  I love the way Amy makes Louis laugh.  You would never know that these two haven’t been together forever.  They are just made for each other!  Can’t wait for their November wedding and to work with Pleasant Surprise Events!  Here’s the slideshow!
