We’d been planning their engagement shoot for a very, very long time and had a few set backs, but it turned out great!  Yvonne and Jon love to cook together and they are both really good at it!  So, we went to the Westwood farmers market and bought the ingredients for a beautiful meal.  They rented an amazing condo in Marina Del Rey where they prepared their dinner and enjoyed a romantic dinner for two.  Well, I’m not sure if it was super romantic with me there clicking away, but we had a fun time!

Jon and Yvonne are getting married next May at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles.  It’s going to be amazing!  Especially because Platinum Weddings by Kerrie is coordinating (thanks for the referral Kerrie!).

Yvonne and Jon, I had so much fun spending the day with you two!  I especially enjoyed the Diddy   Thank you for the amazing cupcakes and cute baby gift.  Kennedy wears the socks daily!  She even laughs at them when she sees them in the mirror of her baby gym!  Can’t wait for your wedding next year!  Here’s your slideshow!

Earlier this year they both decided they couldn’t live without the other.  They dated, quickly became engaged, and now get to travel the world together while Ryan plays golf.  How fun is that?

I love how they finish the others sentences.  I love the funny faces they make at each other.  I love the mutual admiration they have for one another.  Nichole and Ryan are meant to be together.

I’m very excited for their wedding next month!  Can you say Ferris wheel?  I mean, I’m excited for the wedding too, but I’m REALLY excited for the Ferris wheel

Hello Friends!

If you didn’t already know, I am expecting a baby in August.  I will be taking maternity leave August and September and will be returning back to work October 1st.  I am currently booked for portrait sessions through the end of the year and am booking for January 2012.

Newborn Clients – I do have a few spots left for newborn sessions this Fall.  If you are thinking about booking a newborn session please do so ASAP as I am only taking a limited number of sessions in the Fall.

Portrait Clients – If you are interested in getting on the wait list for portrait sessions please email drew@drewbphotography.com and I will put you on the wait list.  I may open up a couple of “mini session” dates and I will announce them here on my blog as well as my Facebook page if I decide to do so.

Prospective Wedding Clients – I will do my best to answer your inquiries in a timely matter while I’m on leave.  I will not be holding any client meetings for the month of August, but will most likely begin to schedule meetings again in September.

Current Wedding and Portrait Clients – Please feel free to contact me at any point during my maternity leave.  I will get back to you, it might just take me a little longer than usual as I get adjusted to being a mom of 2  If you have print orders I would get those in ASAP!  I will still be processing print orders, but it will take me longer than normal to get them to you.

I still have a few sessions to blog and I’m waiting on 3 newborns to be born before I officially start my leave.  So, please check back for those sessions and of course for pictures of our new baby girl when she arrives!

It’s been a whirlwind romance, but I completely understand why.  As we were saying our goodbyes at the end of our shoot I turned to Shelagh and told her she had a catch.  Nic is not only handsome, but he is smart, funny, and most importantly a complete and total gentleman.  I’m not sure I’ve met a man (other than my husband, of course) who is so such a gentleman.  Shelagh said, “Now you understand why our relationship moved so fast!”.  I do, Shelagh!  You two are perfect for one another!

We met at The Jonathan Club in Downtown Los Angeles.  Downtown is where Shelagh and Nic both work and spend a lot of time.  And Nic proposed to Shelagh on the rooftop terrace of The Jonathan Club.  It was the perfect setting for their engagement pictures.

Shelagh and Nic, I had an amazing time getting to know you two better!  I know the next 6 months are going to be difficult for you both, but I know it will only make your relationship stronger in the end!  Here’s your slideshow!

In recent weeks the South has been hammered by the worst storms and tornadoes to hit the area since the 1970′s and then ravaged by historic floods. With over 300 people losing their lives and thousands left homeless, the devastation from these tragic events has been weighing heavily on my heart. I wanted to do something BIG to help the people who were directly effected. Together with Angie Sandy, from Photo Card Boutique, and nearly 30 generous sponsors we have come together together to form Soul 4 the South. This virtual gift basket totals over $3700 in prizes!!!

We have chosen Beremedy as the charity, which will benefit from the fundraiser. Beremedy is located in Atlanta, Georgia. They are close to the destruction and are able to assess who urgently needs aid. 100% of the donations will go directly to the flood and tornado victims!

Cameron is the third Murray kid who’s wedding I will shoot. I shot his older brother Matt’s wedding almost three years ago in Idaho. Kendall will be getting married this October. And now Matt in November! I’m so honored to get to shoot all of their weddings. And I do apologize for calling Cameron Matt for most of the shoot. They look alike! And it doesn’t help that Kendall’s fiance is also named Matt!

Cameron and Annabelle are just too cute together. All they have to do is look at one another to make each other laugh. Their relationship is so fun and playful. It’s evident how in love they are and was so easy to capture. I can’t wait for their wedding day! Here’s the slideshow!

Then I met Tim and I liked Laura even more.  Tim brings out the best in Laura.  I met him for the first time at this session and Laura just glows when she is with him.  And Tim only has eyes for her.  When she talks he looks at her like she’s the only girl in the room.  He not only has so much love for her, but you can tell he has a lot of respect for her as well.  They make a great team.

Tim and Laura met on Myspace (before the good old days of Facebook) through a mutual friend five years ago.  They had their first date at Starbucks.  So,  naturally, we had to go back to where it all started!

I’m so sad that I’m not available to shoot their wedding, but I appreciate Laura and Tim’s understanding.  How sweet they’ve been has made me even more sad that I’m not able to be there.  I know it will be an amazing day!  How could it not be when two people are so in love?  Here’s the slideshow!

Jamie is a great friend of mine.  We’ve known each other since second grade.  Lived in the same neighborhood.  In the same model house.  We played soccer together.  Both went to senior prom with our now husbands.  Went our separate ways after high school.  I answered an ad for a job at her family’s company without knowing it was her family’s company.  Got the job.  Friendship rekindled.  She supported my new photographer career while still working at her family’s company.  Let me go part time so I could further my career.  And then got me the cutest camera cookie basket when I eventually quit (because she knew I didn’t want a going away party!).  I wouldn’t be where I am today without the support of friends like Jamie.  I’m so lucky to have her in my life!
