The Sergio-Castelvetere Family

How lucky am I that I get to watch these cute kids grow up?  It’s the favorite part of my job.  The last time I saw this little lady she was just a tiny thing.  And, while she is still pretty tiny she can now sit, roll, and really smile.  What a difference 7 months makes!  Before you know it summer will be here and I’ll be shooting Brinley’s one year photos!

Nichole and Kit

Photographing friends is scary.  And intimidating.  Especially good friends.  Because you know they will make fun of every single thing you do.  And they will call you out if you act like a dork.  Which I regularly do while taking pictures.  So this shoot was particularly scary for me because Nichole is one of my closest friends from college.  Well, technically, we didn’t become friends until after college.  Because she hated my guts.  But, let’s let bygones be bygones.  We are friends now and that’s all that matters :)

Nichole and Kit grew up together but didn’t start dating until about 10 years after graduation.  I think I may have even been with Nichole one of the first nights that they rekindled their friendship.  Kit makes Nichole (and all of us, really) laugh.  Don’t ever play Cards Against Humanity with him.  Trust me.  One of the things that I’ve grown to love about Kit as I’ve gotten to know him better is how protective he is of Nichole.  You kind of think he’s just this big joker, but he actually seems to me to be very cautious.  And I’ve seen this trait come out more as Nichole’s pregnancy has progressed.  It makes me happy to know my friend is in great hands, but also I know he will be protective of little, redheaded Carl.

Nichole, you are going to be an amazing mom.  I am excited to snuggle your baby boy, and then promptly hand him back so you can do all the hard work :)   You have been such a huge support to me over the past 7 plus years.  You have listened to me worry, complain, and brag about my kids.  You are the first one I call when one of them is sick or hits their heads.  I know I can’t offer the same medical advice to you, but I hope you know that I am always a phone call and a short drive away on the 55 from you if you ever need anything :)

Corrie & Thom

Corrie has been our sitter for over 4 years.  Which is crazy to me.  Brayden had two amazing sitters before her, but Corrie is all he remembers.  Kennedy, who affectionately calls Corrie “Coco”, has never known a life without her.  She was 19 or 20 when she started with us.  As the years went by her friends started getting married.  Corrie never really mentioned any boys.  There were a couple here and there, but nothing ever too serious.

Then all of a sudden there was Thom.  Every time she mentioned Thom she got all giggly.  Even blushed a little.  I know it’s cliche to say, but I’ve never seen her that happy.  And then I unconsciously started looking for a ring on her finger every time she came over.  Before I even met Thom I knew he was the one for Corrie.

Brayden was a different story.  He had an honest dislike for Thom before he met him.  He told me that when he met Thom he was going to kick him in the knees.  Because Brayden loves Corrie.  She is his first crush and he thinks she is the most beautiful girl in the world.  I think his poor little 6 year old heart was crushed.  But, then they finally got to meet Thom and there’s not a whole lot to hate.  I don’t even think Brayden attempted to kick him in the knees.  Which is a good thing for Thom because he is a strong kid.  From the short time we’ve spent with him we can see how kind, genuine, and fun he is.  Corrie and Thom are perfect for each other.  They really are.

We can’t wait for your wedding, Coco.  Well, I can’t.  B and K I’m sure will be excited to walk down the aisle on your actual wedding day (fingers crossed!).  I hope you know how much it means to us that we get to be there with you on your special day.  You are part of our family and we are so grateful for you and excited to see you and Thom start your lives together!
