Baby Emmett

Emmett’s older sister, Sawyer, is the only baby in my history of photographing newborns that I couldn’t get to sleep.  We tried everything and she wouldn’t sleep!  So, I was a bit nervous that it might be a genetic thing and Emmett wouldn’t sleep either.  Thankfully Emmett didn’t get the non sleepy gene and she slept for a bit.  And when she woke up and I started having PTSD, her Daddy got her right back to sleep.

Oh, and by the way, Sawyer has no issues with having pictures taken now as you can clearly see :)

The Wang Family

Our first shoot didn’t go as planned and the circumstances under which I met this wonderful family were not happy ones.  This family was gracious and welcoming during a time when they had every reason to be angry and selfish.  The little room where I first met them was bursting with joy and hope and love.  And I will forever be thankful for being able to witness and document all that love in that teeny, tiny room for a very special little girl.

Fast forward 14 months and we were able to do a shoot under much happier circumstances.  The Wang family spends part of the year here and part in Taiwan.  We did this shoot in a place that is quintessential California so they will have some proper family pictures to decorate their home on the other side of the world.  And, while an important member of their family wasn’t in these pictures she is still always present and in the hearts of all those that knew and love her.

Baby Brinley

Most newborns make me work.  They make me sweat and work to get all those cute poses.  But, every once in a while I get a baby who makes it easy for me.  They sleep the entire time.  Don’t pee or poop on me.  And give me lots of smiles.  That was Baby Brinley.  She is as sweet as can be.  So sleepy.  I think we finished this shoot in record time.  And aren’t her lips just perfect!  If I were her parents I’d be kissing them all the time!
