Baby Evangeline

Trista and I met for breakfast earlier this year.  I knew something was up because she was pretty adamant about getting together.  I had gotten my hopes up before so I was careful to not get too excited.  When she handed me a piece of paper and told me she printed something off the internet for me to see I knew my  hunch was right this time.  She was pregnant!

After I asked when she was due my next question was who was shooting her newborn pictures.  When she said I was I got scared.  Trista is a perfectionist.  And I say that in the nicest way.  I was honored out of all the photographers that she wanted me, but I was just terrified of messing up her newborn pictures.

Eventually that nervousness gave way to excitement and I was so happy to have that time to spend with Trista, Doug, and Evangeline.  She is just perfect.  She has Doug’s toes and Trista’s lips.  They love that little girl so much.  They will be the best parents.  Trista and Doug have not missed one of our baby showers or kid’s parties.  Ever.  They bring the perfect presents and have always been the best Auntie and Uncle to our kids.  They were meant to be parents and little Evie is so lucky.  I hope that I can be half the Auntie to Evie that Trista has been to Brayden and Kennedy.

Mr and Mrs Carrillo

You know how people say it’s good luck for it to rain on your wedding day?  I guarantee if you ask any bride who’s wedding got rained on and they would tell you they would rather have sun than good luck!  As I drove out to Palm Springs for Kendra and Alex’s wedding I drove under a few rain clouds, but luckily it cleared up as I got into town.  It was a bit windy.  And colder than it should have been in Palm Springs, but it was beautiful and sunny!

Kendra and Alex’s wedding was a little bittersweet for me as it might be my last wedding.  I say “might” because I’m not going to say I will never shoot another wedding again, but I’m going to take an extended vacation from weddings to focus on my portrait business and my family.  It was a good wedding to end on.  I knew Kendra was meticulous and detail oriented.  But, Kendra and her mom totally blew me away.  From the custom linens to the lucite name cards.  It was all magnificent.

Of course, it didn’t hurt that they had Jaclyne from Heavenly Blooms on your team.  She is so unbelievably talented.  And the Viceroy Palm Springs was the perfect backdrop for the wedding!

Beyond all the gorgeous details I was just so happy to see Kendra happy.  She literally glowed the entire day.  Kendra and I went to college together and were in the same sorority.  But, it wasn’t until the past couple of years where we have really gotten to know one another.  Alex can make Kendra smile like no one else can.  They were just meant to be together and I could not be happier for them both.

So, here it is.  My last wedding.  I’m not going to say goodbye.  I’ll just say so long for now :)

Holiday Mini Sessions – 2012

I absolutely loved our mini sessions this year.  All the sessions were with past clients.  Some that I hadn’t seen in a couple of years and some that I just saw a few months ago.  There were new babies to meet.  Kids that had grown up way too fast.  And lots to catch up on.  Which, is hard to do when you only have a 20 minute session!  But, I think we made it work!

My absolute favorite thing about mini sessions is that I get to spend time scheming and brainstorming with  my friend, Julie.

She always makes my visions come to life.  Actually, she makes my visions way better than what I was originally envisioning.  She’s so talented and I so appreciate her sharing her talent with me and my clients!  I think we make a pretty great team.  Too bad I can’t talk her into doing it full time with me.  But, we might even be opening up some traveling dates next year so stay tuned!

Thanks so all of my amazing clients!  It made for a fun two days!
