Meet Lucy.
She is one of the bravest and strongest little girls I have ever met.
She was born 13 weeks early and spent her first 88 days of life in the NICU. She weighed 1 pound, 8 ounces when she was born. Her foot prints were the tiniest thing I’ve ever seen.
There were ups and downs in the NICU. It was a scary time, but Lucy is a fighter. Just like her Mama.
Lucy’s middle name is Grace. Paige told me that they named her Lucy Grace after Paige’s own Mom, who lost her battle to cancer just two weeks before Lucy was born.
Paige said that Lucy brought grace back into their family. Something she thought their family lost when they lost her Mom.
I know that she brought even more than that to the people who were touched by her story. Lucy brought hope that miracles do happen. She showed the good in humanity when people came together to help her family. And she is bringing joy back into a family who has gone through so much in the last few months.
I can’t wait to continue to watch Lucy grow. She’s an amazing little girl with an amazing family.
And she also has the cutest belly button I’ve ever seen!
