The Imus Family – 2010

It’s official! The Imus family are my oldest clients. This is the 5th year I have shot their family session. It’s crazy to me that their youngest daughter, Kendall, was younger than Brayden when I started shooting their family. Now she’s a big first grader! I love how both of the girls are always so excited to see me and how they call me “Mrs Drew”. It’s really a special thing to get to capture a family growing year after year. I just love it!

However, it does get hard trying to find a unique location each year! Especially now that Jen is a photographer I know that she’ll be up for getting chased by the cops anything! That makes it even more fun!

Jen, Ron, Sydney, and Kendall – Thank you SO much for sticking by me and believing in me all of these years. I can’t even tell you how much your support has meant to me.  I really look forward to the time I get to spend with you all!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!  Here’s your slideshow!

Sydney is so great in front of the camera.  She’s always followed direction so well!

These girls are literally turning into teenagers right in front of my eyes.  They both picked out their outfits.  So stylish!

This was the first year that I really felt I captured Kendall so relaxed.  She’s always been a little hesitant and distracted in front of the camera.  She would rather talk to me and go explore rather than posing in front of the camera.  You can tell she’s really growing up!

Jen and Ron were such great sports.  The only hesitated for a second when I told them to climb on top of this giant bike :)

Mr and Mrs Moreyra

Christine and Fernando had a very intimate and lovely destination wedding at the Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel.  It was beautiful and so full of love.  They are so lucky because they get to have a second wedding in their home state of New Jersey this Saturday.  Two weddings!  That’s a girls dream!

Congratulations Christine and Fernando!  Thank you so much for including me in your special day!

Mr and Mrs Reed

I had been really looking forward to Nicole and Jeremy’s wedding day all summer.  Not just because their wedding was being held at a venue that I really wanted to shoot at.  But, because the venue matched their personalities so perfectly.  I was excited to see how they would tie it all together.  The Smog Shoppe is just that, an old automotive shop that was turned into a wedding venue.  And not just any wedding venue.  A totally green wedding venue (read more about it on their site).  Nicole and Jeremy live in Venice.  They are both writers.  They love their bikes.  They are both very cool without trying to be cool.  Totally unpretentious.

Some weddings are very beautiful.  But, with all the over the top details you can lose site of the whole reason why you are at the wedding.  The details at Nicole and Jeremy’s wedding were also beautiful, yet personal.  You never forgot that the reason you were there was to celebrate the love between the two of them.  A close friend married the two of them.  The readings that they had weren’t your traditional readings, but had special meaning to the couple.  The toasts were heartfelt.  It was perfect.

Nicole and her bridesmaids got ready at the Hotel Erwin in Venice Beach.  The suite overlooked the boardwalk.  Totally perfect setting.

The wedding party took this super fun bus to the Smog Shoppe.  The artist who painted it happens to be a local favorite of Nicole and Jeremy’s.

Instead of a best man, Jeremy had a best person.  His sister.  He was her best person at her wedding.  Love that.

I loved this moment.  Jeremy’s hand was shaking so bad he had to steady it when Nicole put his ring on.
