It seems like I’ve known Sandy forever. We started talking about her wedding before she had even booked a venue. That is the ultimate compliment. When a bride contacts me before she has even booked her venue. She has nothing planned yet, but knows she wants me to be the photographer. That seriously means so much to me!
This is the second time we had Sandy and Matt’s engagement session scheduled. The first time we had to cancel because of rain and lightning… in June. If you live in Southern California you know that any kind of rain in the summer is a super rare occurrence. But, I’m so glad we did reschedule. This time we had a gorgeous and sunny day. It was perfect! And I was so excited to finally meet Matt. I’ve been talking to Sandy for over a year now so it was great to get to know Matt as well. He is seriously such a sweetheart and funny too! I had a great time getting to know him!
I can’t wait for their October wedding at the Balboa Bay Club! Thank you to Gina for referring Sandy to me! And if anyone needs awesome Pilates instructors in Long Beach or Newport Gina and Sandy are your girls! Email me for their info! I mean, check out Sandy’s calves! She has such an awesome body! She will be a gorgeous bride, indeed! Here’s the slideshow!
PS Thank you to the awesome Carina of Flawless Faces for doing such an awesome job on Sandy’s makeup! Gorgeous as always!
Monique Lhuillier that is! Ki and her beautiful gown are featured in the real brides section. How awesome is that? Monique Lhuillier is one of my favorite wedding gown designers so I’m truly honored to have my pictures featured. Go check it out!
I had not 1, but 2 totally fun mentoring sessions last week. The second one was with Jen from Jennifer Imus Photography. This session was awesome because Jen and her family have been clients of mine for the past 3 years. I’ve had so much fun seeing her family grow and now I get to see Jen’s business grow as well. Jen’s photography business is in the infancy stages. For the past 7ish years Jen has been a stay at home mom. She left a successful career in marketing when her first daughter, Sydney, was born. While she LOVES being a mommy she realized that she needed to do something for herself. To find her passion. And for her, that is photography. I think a lot of us mom’s can relate to that, right?
She’s doing things the right way and has been taking classes and really learning her camera. She came to me to learn marketing, pricing, time management, and also how to photograph people since she’s been focusing on landscapes up until now. I believe now she has all of the tools to get her business of the ground including an incredible amount of talent, passion, and drive. I’m so excited to see where she takes it!
Here’s one of the Imus family last year. I’m sure you’ll recognize them This is one of my most favorite pictures!
Our family that we photographed was awesome! Kim, the mom, even emailed me pictures of their outfit choices! How cool is that??? I love how they all coordinate with the blues, but they aren’t matchy, matchy. It was perfect. Besides totally looking cute, these kids were two of the nicest, most well behaved kids I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. I absolutely adored all of them!
Onto the pictures! First off, one of Jen in action!
