Mr. & Mrs. Berlow

It’s been almost a year since I shot Alex and Corey’s engagement session in New York City. Chuck and I had so much fun hanging out with them and hearing all of Corey’s fun stories and interesting facts that I couldn’t wait for their wedding! Corey is the BEST tour guide! We learned so many fun things!

Alex and Corey were married at the Gainey Vineyard in Santa Ynez. Earlier in the week we all got a pretty big scare when a big fire broke out pretty close to the vineyard. But luckily the only sign of fire were just a few water dropping helicopters (one that came RIGHT in the middle of the ceremony!) that came to a lake behind the vineyard. Other than that, it was an absolutely gorgeous day!

Alex and Corey are the perfect fit for each other. Alex is a little quiet and reserved. While, Corey is very exciteable and outgoing. They balance each other out perfectly. And both of their families are amazing. When Corey’s mom would send me checks she would include such sweet notes to me even though I had never met her! Unfortunately, Alex’s family are diehard ‘SC alums… We all know how I feel about those people! But, really that is their only fault. Besides that they were very wonderful and welcoming people. As long as they didn’t have the ‘SC marching band there they are good in my book :)

Congratulations Alex and Corey! I feel so lucky and honored to have been a part of your day! Next time we’re in New York we’ll have to get together! Here is your slide show!

Not all wedding shoes have to cost hundreds of dollars. Guess where Alex got these cute shoes?

Alex is so classy! From the very first time I met her I just thought she was so classy and sophisticated!

Alex had a very small bridal party, which was very refreshing.

I was just in love with these flower girls. Not only were they super cute, but they were also such nice little girls and fun to photograph!

I love that Corey was just as excited about this tractor as I was!

I just loved the boys suits

And the flowers by Debbie Odell

The location for the ceremony was so gorgeous and the light was perfect!

There were so many great locations to shoot Corey and Alex’s pictures

There’s those shoes again! They’re from Target believe it or not!

I’m not usually a fan of textures, but I was playing with the new ones in the TRA2 set and I really like the ones they included because they are so subtle.

Alex made almost everything herself, but these are two of my most favorite details

These crazy kids were attempting a quadruple self portrait.  All their cameras on timers.  I offered to just take their picture with their cameras, but they wanted to do it themselves.  They are pros!

One of my favorite moments from the reception was the father daughter dance. Alex use to dance on her dad’s feet when she was little.

I can’t forget the gorgeous cake

And the rings

Happy Anniversary To Us!

3 years ago today Chuck and I were married!  Wow, life has changed a lot in these past 3 years and even more in the past 10 years that Chuck and I have been together.  Instead of writing another sappy love letter to Chuck telling him how wonderful he is and how much I love him (because I’m sure you all are sick of those), I’ve decided to share our vows that we said to each other on our wedding day.  These vows are framed and hang outside of our bedroom door and I love to read them.  I think these were the best part of our wedding.

My vows to Chuck:

Chuck, the night you first kissed me I made you promise you would always be my best friend.  Today, you are not only my best friend, but you are the love of my life, my confidant, the man I want to grow old with, and my soul mate.

You make me happy when I am sad.  You make me feel safe when I’m scared.  You encourage my dreams and comfort me in times of sadness.

Because of you I laugh, I smile, and I live life to the fullest.

I love you for your kindess, your compassion, your intellegence, your sense of humor, and the way you make me feel so special.

I promise to make you laugh everyday.

I promise to help shoulder our challenges, because there is nothing we can’t face together.

I promise to try to learn to cook one day and to let you win in Jeopardy every once in a while.

I promise to be the best mother I can be to our children.

And on top of all the other vows I have made to you on our wedding day, I also vow to always appreciate how lucky I am to have someone who makes me feel the way you do and to continue to try as hard as I can to make you feel as special and loved as you make me feel forever and ever.

Chuck’s vows to me:

I’ve always known that there was someone out there that I wanted to share my life with.  Someone to see the world with and someone to stay home on a Saturday night with.  Someone to raise puppies and babies with, and someone to grow old with.

Soon after we met, I knew that person was you.  But you’ve brought more to my life than I ever could have dreamed.

Your cookiness makes me laugh out loud, and just seeing you makes me smile until my cheeks hurt.  And just when it doesn’t seem possible to love you anymore, I find myself amazed at how my love for you has grown.  Thank you for letting me love you, thank you for loving me back, thank you for the seven years we’ve spent together, and for the lifetime to come.  I love you baby.

I still haven’t tried to learn to cook (see, I didn’t write that I WOULD learn to cook one day.  I wrote I would TRY to learn to cook one day), but I’ve pretty much kept all my other vows.  It’s always hard to imagine that you could possibly love someone else more than already do, but I know for a fact that my love for Chuck has grown over the past 3 years.  He has become such a remarkable man, husband, and now a Daddy.  Just seeing him with his little “mini me” makes my heart melt.

So, Happy Anniversary Chuck!  I love you more than fountain cokes, cookie dough, and chocolate ice cream combined!  Whoa.  That’s a lot :)

And what’s a post without a picture.  These are the world’s most unflattering pictures, but I love them because they are us.  Taken this past weekend at Crystal Cove with hoods on because the beach makes my hair frizzy.

He always does this when we take self portraits and I always forget it’s coming!

And I can’t end without saying a VERY Happy Birthday to one of my BFF’s, Christy.  Yes, we got married on her birthday because it was the closest Saturday to the day Chuck and I officially met in Maui.  Hey, I got her a cake at our wedding!  Brayden and Hauggy wanted to wish Christy a very, very Happy Birthday!  We love you Christy!

Mr. & Mrs. Berlow – Sneak Peek

I think these naughty groomsmen were trying to tell Corey something before the ceremony…

Don’t worry.  Corey didn’t listen to them and he married his gorgeous bride, Alex.

What’s really funny about that first picture is that the groomsmen were really scared of what Alex would think.  She has them trained well!

More pictures from this gorgeous wedding coming soon!
