Liz & David

June 25th, 2009

You will remember Liz and David as my models for one of my mentoring sessions a few months back.  Now we did their official engagement session and they rocked it.  They were already professionals and knew exactly what to do.

This session was so much fun because there was a lot of illegal trespassing.  I was pretty nervous because I don’t like to break the law, but Liz is a lawyer so I told her if we get busted she would have to do all the talking :)  In the end it was totally worth it!

I’m super excited for their wedding in September!  By their third shoot with me they will be beyond professional.  I might just have to pay to shoot them!

And everyone please leave Liz super nice birthday comments because she turns the big 3-0 on Sunday!  I don’t think she looks a day over 23 :)

Thanks for the champagne, Liz and David!  That was too thoughtful!  It’s always great hanging out with you too!  Can’t wait for the big day!  Don’t forget to check out the slideshow!

Here’s where the illegal trespassing began!

Nga & Jay

June 21st, 2009

I took a little break from our move last week to shoot Nga and Jay’s engagement session.  And it just happened to be at one of my most favorite places.  UCLA!  Nga and Jay meet there and graduated just a year after I did.  And they just so happened to meet in the same lecture hall that Chuck and I had our only class together in.

As we were walking around campus we were all reminiscing and I had them tell me about how they met.  Jay said that he walked into the lecture hall and caught Nga checking him out.  He flipped his long, flowing hair back and forth and checked her out too, while carrying his motorcycle helmet.  Later he saw her in the Kerckhoff coffee shop and asked her to do his homework.  The reason this story is so funny is because later Nga told me he didn’t have long hair and he didn’t have a motorcyle.  See, Jay has a wild imagination.  I imagine he was a handful as a child.  But, he made the session so much fun.  And he was sick!  I can’t imagine what he would have been like if he felt one hundred percent ;)  Nga has her hands full :)

Nga and Jay didn’t start dating after they met.  They were “just friends” for a few years after college and one late night they finally confessed their love for one another.  You can really tell how much fun they have together.  They are constantly laughing and goofing off.  They actually remind me a lot of Chuck and myself.

Sadly, I will not be shooting their wedding :(  But, I know it’s going to be amazing!  How could it not be with two people this much fun???  Good luck with your wedding, Nga and Jay!  I can’t wait to see the pictures!  For now, here’s your slide show!

First off, let’s start with Jay’s shirt.  I mean, you have to be a pretty funny guy to pull this off!

It all began in this building

In this coffee shop

I love shooting at UCLA because I find new spots every time

The lecture hall where it all began

I remember sitting in a lot of boring lectures in this hall.  Chuck got a better grade than me, which isn’t shocking.  He has the book smarts, but I have the street smarts ;)

This is Nga’s cake cutting dress.  Isn’t is so cute?

My favorite shot of the day

I lie.  This may be my favorite shot of the day.

See, there’s funny Jay again!

Lisa & Richard

June 13th, 2009

I haven’t shot a real session in weeks so I was very excited for Lisa and Richard’s engagement session.  I was also very excited to finally meet Lisa and Richard.  They live in Oregon and booked me over the phone so it was great to put faces to the names.  They even brought their cute little Pug, Lola.  She did a great job on the shoot, but was a bit noisy :)  Oh, and Richard is from England.  I love accents!  It was just fun to hear him talk!

Lisa and Richard are getting married this October in Vegas!  I’m beyond excited to shoot their wedding at The Wynn and reception at The Palms!  But, I’m even more excited for their day after shoot.  It’s going to be radder than rad!

Thanks Lisa and Richard for coming down for the shoot!  Sorry the weather didn’t totally cooperate!  I hope you love the pictures and I can’t wait to work with you two again!  Here’s your slideshow!

*** PS  Please remember that DrewB Photography will be closed next week for our move.  I will respond to emails as soon as I can!

Little Miss Emma

June 10th, 2009

I had a fun shoot with Emma this past weekend.  She modeled a very cute dress from Marlin’s Mom on Etsy.  Isn’t it adorable?  And Emma’s mom (who happens to be my BFF, Michelle) will be starting her very own Etsy store soon!  For BFF day, which was yesterday and I didn’t even know, she sent me a super cute bag and hair clip.  I’m not sure I’m cool enough to pull off the hair clip, but I will most certainly try.  Happy belated BFF day, Michelle!  Sorry I didn’t get you a present, but I’m sure my friendship is the best present I can give ;)

We’re Moving!

June 6th, 2009

Our household is in total disarray as we prepare for our move on June 13.  Don’t worry.  We’re not going far.  Just a little bit of a bigger house with a much bigger yard for Brayden and Hauggy.  It also has a great meeting space for my client meetings!  My very own space!  So excited for that!

What that means for you:

1)  If you’re a bride wanting to meet with me for your upcoming wedding I suggest doing it before the 12th.  I will not be holding meetings until the beginning of July while I get my  new space together.

2)  I probably won’t be blogging a whole heck of a lot in the next week and a half.  I just have to see how much time I have.

3)  Starting June 13th I will have very limited email and phone access for a few days as our new internet is hooked up.  Please bear with me during that time.  I will try to steal wireless internet from one of our new neighbors :)

This post will remain up top until we are settled in our new place!  Wish us luck!  And just in case you’re wondering that’s the world’s largest roll of bubble wrap that Brayden is laying on.  It’s officially his new favorite toy!

Casting - Family

June 2nd, 2009

It’s that time again!  Time for a casting call!  I need a family to model for one of my mentoring sessions on July 20.  The session will take place in the Brea / Fullerton area around 6pm.  I prefer a family with at least one younger child (3 - 10).  Please email a current image of your family with the ages of your children.  Please do NOT email me if you are a couple.  I will post again when I need couples.  Thanks!

What you get:

-  A fun shoot with me and another fun photographer!

-  Approximentaly 10 - 15 images on disc.

And here are some of my awesome models from last mentoring session with a family!  You can have as much fun as they did!

Brayden the Model

June 1st, 2009

It was brought to my attention that Brayden hasn’t made an appearance on this blog for some time.  Brayden pretty much lives over on Mom*tog, but for those of you who don’t venture over there often here are some pictures from Brayden’s modeling session last week.  He’s getting so big  Can you believe it?  The only way I can shoot him nowadays is if he is contained somewhere.  And these took a lot of energy to get!   These cute shirts are from Marlins Mom over on Etsy.  She has totally cute boy clothes!

Save the Dates

May 27th, 2009

I love getting save the dates and invitations from my clients.  Especially when they use my images on them!  It’s always fun to see what they come up with!  Tara told me all about their ticket inspired save the dates and I told her she must send one to me.  I was not disappointed when I received it in the mail.  It totally fits them and their story and I just love it!

These lovely save the dates were designed by Rachel Denham Designs and she can be contacted at raedenhamdesigns@gmail.com.

Baby Cameron is Turning 1!

May 25th, 2009

I can’t believe it’s almost been one year since Baby Cameron was born!  She’s such a big girl now and I think it’s so funny how she looks exactly like her daddy!  She’s a very happy and fun little girl and I can’t wait to celebrate her birthday in June!  We took these fun pictures to celebrate her big day.  Happy birthday Baby Cami!

*** A very special thank you to Tiara from Tiara’s Boutique for sending over this tutu set!  Cami is having a Tinkerbell themed birthday party and I wanted something Tinkerbellish for her.  It was pefect!

My favorite shot of the day!

Baby Leah

May 22nd, 2009

Baby Leah and her Mama, Bridgit, came over for a mini session this week.  Although it was nap time for this cute little thing, she held up very well and gave me a bunch of great smiles!  Isn’t she a doll?  Leah is the youngest of 5 kids!  No wonder she’s so easy going and content!  Here are just a few of my favorites from the session.
